Dunphy Labels Keane 'Rent A Quote.'

The rabid dog has finally turned on his owner.

Time for him to be put down?

Roy Keane has been accused of being sucked into Premier League "vacuousness" and becoming a "rent-a-quote" manager by the author of his ghosted autobiography.
Eamon Dunphy, once a Millwall player but now an outspoken football pundit on Irish television, has previously been a staunch advocate of Keane, consistently defending the former Manchester United captain's sometimes contentious actions.

Yet Dunphy is clearly far less enamoured with Keane the Sunderland manager. "I know Roy well and the one thing he hated when I knew him and when we were working on that book was the bull-**** that was a part of manager-speak and part of player-speak," he said.

"But now he holds these lengthy press conferences every week in which he anoints David O'Leary to be the next Ireland manager, anoints Terry Venables to be the next Ireland manager.
"He talks about how wonderful it is for the Premier League to play games abroad and he's just become rent-a-quote. It's quite extraordinary," Dunphy told the Pat Kenny show on Ireland's RTE channel.

"This is a sharp, smart, outstanding human being and he's just been sucked into that awful Premier League vacuousness. It's sad to see Roy Keane bull****ting. But there you go. It happens." No one at Sunderland was available for comment last night.

It was only a matter of time.

They should pit these two lunatics against each other in one of those 'celebrity boxing' matches.

It's very rare that a manager/player won't spout the same usual stuff. They do lots of pre/post match interviews, with the same questions over and over. I'm sure they'd get pissed off with them. I know I would.
In fact I'd probably go the Rafa route:
I am focused on training and coaching my team
Well, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.

My mate went to see it and said it was brilliant.

Dunphy is a **** though for the record.

Has Dunphy ever even tried management?

A manager can't say anything bad about the ref after a game, he would be fined/banned if he did that.

A manager can't blame his players to much then he will be criticized by the supporters for not backing the players.

Not really that much left to talk about. That means that a manager will more or less say the same things after a game.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

To be honest the FA/PL should make more sensible regulations for managers. They should be called up when they make ludicrous claims about decision but they should be allowed to make reasonable comments IMO and certainly the current say nothing of note or get banned approach is very dull.
