    Glenn Roeder

Has been doing a great job at Norwich. They were bottom when he took over, he has spent **** all and now they are 10 points clear of the relegation zone and only 6points of the play off positions.

He took a lot of stick for his time at both West Ham and Newcastle. I think it was largely unfair although he has always been a coach first manager second he was IMO better for them than any other manager the bar codes have had since Robson.

I hope he gets to stay at Norwich for a good stint and build a side based on youth which seems to be his outstanding talent. I think that the nurturing of young players as a coaching talent is under valued in a lot of ways.

    Foggy should be fairly impressed.

Oliver Holt wrote a short article praising him also in yesterdays Mirror. No doubt Roeder has done a great job and maybe he has found his level.

I have an irrational dislike and suspicion of Roeder – although of course I agree the treatment he received mainly from West Ham fans was appalling.

I find him incredibly uninspiring, dull and, well, gimpy. I can imagine him being bullied by players…making him cry, even.

Maybe Newcastle shouldn't have got rid of him?

Apparently he is a big believer in motivational speaking and reads all sorts of books on psychology and the like. At Newcastle he had signs on the walls with slogans and inspiring sayings about achieving your goals etc. I'm sure your average Premier League paid a lot of attention to them!
I read an interview with him and he came across a bit David Brentesque.

              I know what you mean.
              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

                Yeah he's very Brentish.

I find all that "pin up a slogan"/"achieving your goals" stuff to be absolute bollocks. I suppose it must work for some, otherwise people just wouldn't bother with it.

He couldn't inspire........I dunno.....a cat! Never mind a set of highly paid young footballers.

He's monotone, not half as articulate/smart as he thinks he is and strikes me as a real wet lettuce.

Its his lack of chin/jaw that makes you dislike him, isn't it?

                            It's definitely a contributory factor.
