The only ****s in the case of Collymore's depression were those (including his manager John Gregory IIRC) who were saying "how can he be depressed when he's on £xxxk a week". The idea that someone cant have mentall illness issues (or other issues) because they earn a lot of money is ridiculous but all too prevalent in the way we talk about football.

How old was your mate when he made this opinion?Originally posted by fah-q View PostCollymore is soft as ****e. A mate of mine grew up with him and said whilst he had a temper, he was a pussy.
Wio would merk him pwoper, Brrraaaap!
I know after the Ulrika incident he was in a nightclub where a few of the England Rugby team were, and a couple of them were mouthing off at him, he lost his rag and asked them out for a fight and they bottled it. He's a big lump.
Anyway, I quite like listening to Collymore, and I like Redknapp too. Both players get loads of grief on here, but then again I don't believe that anyone who says anything remotely negative about LFC is a cunt. I think it comes hand in hand with my dislike for what football has turned into. We're all waving the flags for corporate profits now and this in turn has given me a more evenly balanced opinion on the club and ex players. I no longer feel hugely passionate about the game, I still like watching Liverpool and Dalglish has introduced a little romanticism back into football for me, but when you strip it all back, football is now just a product, owned by foreign businessmen with no interest in football and its traditions. Its all about the dollar, we may as well wear Apple shirts (like Forestbloke).Last edited by Suarez; 27-11-11, 03:39 PM.

There are very people who have a single original thought in their head about football. Football commentary and opinion is full of cliches.Originally posted by BringbackBiscan View PostIt's more insightful then Redknapp repeating whatever is Sky's topic of the week/year. Quite agree with this.
I like Collymore too on TS - he's passionate and tells it like he sees it. Also unlike most presenters Collymore will back up his opinion (no matter how daft it might sound) with his reasons for it.
Such a shame that these demons have control over him. He could've been one of the best footballers in the world.

Hi Kids. Can tell you that Stan Colleymore won't respond to me - because he's a cowardly bully. With him in SA - e's a first class nothingmikeparry8 Mike Parry
I'm really sorry if Stan Collymore is suffering from depression. That does not give him the right to smash a colleague's bedroom door down.mikeparry8 Mike Parry

I thought he was in somewhere like a Burger King and it was a South African International that was currently playing club rugby in England. I think it was a racist sledge as well."That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.
Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."
