Cup final could be last game for Tottenham's King

Cup final could be last game for Tottenham's King
    tribalfootball.com - February 22, 2008

Tottenham captain Ledley King fears tomorrow's Carling Cup final could be his last game for the club.

The Daily Mail says the Spurs defender has a degenerative knee condition and has been warned that he may not be able to pursue his playing career beyond the club's first final since 2002.

King was outstanding in the Carling Cup semifinal against Arsenal, but he has been unable to play for the club since that 5-1 victory in January.

Although King is reluctant to admit that his career could be over, Tottenham sources fear the worst after tomorrow's final.

King's knees are now 'bone on bone' and he has been told there is very little that can be done to improve the situation.

He also has a hip condition that is causing him problems. The defender, 27, is one of the most popular players at Tottenham, but there are growing fears that this could turn out to be King's farewell appearance.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Regardless of which team a player plays for it's always sad to see their career cut short due to injuries.

Obviously the above sentiments do not apply to that cunt Garry Neville.

I didn't know he had such a condition.

Sad news. Let's hope they win the cup for him.
      Oh I don't know.

I heard if he does decide to continue his career, he can only play one in three games.

He has had some horrific injuries and for a talented centre back, its a real shame for Tottenham and England.

The story that King has a career-threatening arthritis condition has been circulating among Spurs fans for some time.
                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Yes. I'm not a medical man but I believe "bone-on-bone" usually signals osteoarthritis since it means the cartilage in the joint has worn away. Replacement is the usual treatment.

                        Lame is the word.

I know what you mean but I really wouldn't wish osteoarthritis on anyone and neither would you if you'd experienced it.

You're right though - it is always the good guys who get it.

This would mean he couldn't play again then?
