English sides like look of Lopez

The agent of Porto striker Lisandro Lopez claims a number of English clubs have joined Sevilla in the race to sign the Argentinian this summer.

Lopez has impressed hugely since his move to Portugal from Racing Club in 2005, and is currently top-scorer in the SuperLiga with 21 goals.

And agent Fernando Hidalgo claims a number of clubs are keeping tabs on Lopez, including some in England.

"The good performance Lisandro has delivered since he arrived to Porto and the goals that he has scored this season for his team, being the top-scorer of the Portuguese league, has made English teams and Sevilla interested in him," Hidalgo told the Argentine press.

Hidalgo did, though, deny recent reports from Italy which suggested Roma had agreed a deal for him.

"For the moment I can't say the names of the English teams that have shown their interest but what I can say is that I haven't received any kind of proposal from Roma like it has been said in the Italian press," he said.

"Lisandro will cost nearly 15million euros (£12million) so the teams interested have to know that to start any negotiations they to have the intention to pay that amount."

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Goal.com- Reports in Portugal today claim that Porto striker, Lisandro Lopez, is looking to leave the club this summer and wants to move to Real Madrid.

A Bola claims that the Argentine forward wants to show his talent this season and earn a dream move to the defending Primera champions.

Lisandro has impressed greatly for Porto this year, especially in the Champions League, and he scored twice in Madrid last week when his side drew with Atletico.

Whether or not that performance will have caught the eye of los Blancos, bearing in mind he missed a few clear-cut chances too, is not certain, but the paper believes he is definitely looking to move.

"Lisandro is in a good moment and he wants to continue on the road to success with his ambition. His goal is to compete in a championship more in the media spotlight," says the report.

Unsurprisingly, the striker reportedly wants to "shine" against Atletico again next week in Europe so that he can further impress potential suitors.

It is not clear yet, though, if Real Madrid will even sign a striker in the summer, with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar bought in during the winter transfer window.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy is also set to return from injury and the Spanish club may well not decide to add to that arsenal.

However, at the same time, Lisandro could be a cheaper option than many of the strikers in Europe and might well offer a plan B for the coach, whoever that may be next season.
