    Opposition Managers you respect

Following on from Tom's thread about Wenger's comments on the Ashley Cole chant, are there any opposition team managers you have come to have high regard for or just have a general liking of?

This is being posted before tonight's Panorama documentary so some opinions may change over the next couple of hours.

Personally, I have a lot of respect for Chris Coleman (and not just because he's welsh). He hasn't got the easiest job down at Fulham but always comes across on TV with a great deal of dignity and honesty. I also liked the way he dealt with the Malbranque situation.

I also like Ian Holloway but only for the comedy value. He's hilarious.

I like Alan Pardew. He's an excellent coach who gets his team playing above their skill level and makes them believe that they're the best. He's humble in victory and defeat and I thought the way he took the F.A. Cup final loss was very good.

There are other managers that I respect like Coleman, Redknapp and as much as I hate to say it, due to him being a manc, Steve Coppell

Alan Pardew is a good shout. A bit like Coleman but probably the better manager

I used to like Ian Holloway but now he appears to be trying far too hard to be funny. Becoming a tad irritating for me.

I'll go along with Pardew (I wasn't keen for a long time but he's earned my respect) and Jewell.

Purely in a football sense, I have loads of respect for Arsene Wenger.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I think Coleman does an excellent job at Fulham aswell. He's had to put up with all sorts of rubbish over the last few years and if anyone else had been in charge of them then I think they may well have went down last year. Their home form has been excellent in the last couple of seasons. He's one of the games good guys IMHO.

How about managers you don't like?

Mourinho, Wenger, Ferguson, Jol, Allardyce, Bruce. The list is endless!!!

Stuart Pearce has a very down to earth approach and has integrity (let Robbie go without a fuss) and I hate to say it, but Mark Hughes often says a lot of good things... said we had the right to defend our CL, for example... he's bound to have said some bad **** in the meantime, but he started well.

As much as i hate him. He, for me, is the best manager in the game!

If its any consolation Coppell is a Liverpool fan. I like Coppell, Wenger, Stuart Pearce goes about things in the right way. I also like guys who develop youth, such as Mclaren and Paul Hart. Lots of respect to Dario Gradi as well.

Wenger's a great manager, but also a whinging hypocritial ****.

Pardew, Jewell, Bothroyd and Coppell are all sound and yes I know the latters ex-scum.
