yes that is what I have heard, but have also heard that due to the tie up between the clubs, fergie knew of him, perhaps the friendly just confirmed what talent he had.

It's just so bloody stupid not to tie up a talent like this when you know that your worst rival will play against him a few days later.

I would have been on the phone almost 24/7 to convince him to sign a pre-contract with us before the game, not sitting on my ass doing nothing when you have an agreement with the club to sign him.

If it then piss him off then so be it but then I would at least have showed how much I want him to sign for us.

Only a written contract is worth anything, an agreement without a written contract isn't worth anything at all because that can be broken anytime.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

True, but then agan a written contract didnt stop that ****er Mikel from ****ing the Mancs over!!

But fully agree with you about the tie in, I dont know why we dont sort something like that out with some say Portugese, French, Spanish, Dutch Skando teams get in their with some hot talent. Whatever we have with Ashanti Gold isnt working.

He is the best player in the world right now and will go down as one of the great in football history.

It's scary to think that he will get even better because he is still young.

I hate him but I can't hide from the truth.

Personally, I think Messi is better than Ronaldo.
It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

Yeah i think Messi is better too but on current form you cant argue with Ronaldo

Over the course of the past Year and a Half Ronaldo deserves to be called the best. I mean FFS he is involved in practically every single goal

Today he was involved in all 4 goals. 1 goal and 3 assists
He scored against us last week.
He scored both against Bolton the game before
He scored the only goal against Derby the game before that to save them there
                    etc etc etc etc

I can just about live with:

Ronaldo is the best player in the world*

Tell me about it. I thought Villa might show up today, so I hedged my bets and decided to have Berbatov as my fantasy team captain this week instead of Ronaldo. He'd better play a blinder against Newcastle tomorrow.

They should have got his name on some sort of pre-contract as soon as the fee was agreed.
There was apparently some sort of issue about how much we would pay him. He would have been paid pretty decent money but this would have caused problems within the squad with the young players because we had just signed Le Tallec and Pongolle who were being paid a hell of a lot less.

I think PT's book also said that we agreed a fee that was a lot less than the one United actually paid.

We should just blame Parry anyway.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!
