Sagna Splendid purchase for Arsenal good going forward solid at the back and quick
Ferdinand In many way finally fulfilling his potential. Assured and commanding at the back part of the best CB partnership in the league.
Vidic The other half of the best CB partnership in the league.
Lescott Tight one again here but he has improved a lot in terms of consistancy this season and the rest of the team is basically from United and Arsenal so he got the nod over Clichy and Evra who have both been very good too.
Flamini Possibly second in my most influential player for his team this year for me his improvement has been the difference between Arsenal last year and this. No matter where they finish for the first half of the season alone he deserves the plaudits and has been largely unsung.
Fabregas Scored goals, made goals. Splendid player very good season. Come on in the presence of the rejuvenated Flamini. Nearly lost out due to being **** when played with Gilberto though.
Ronaldo I'm sure everyone will have him, if not it is simply bias. Best player in the league this year.
Rooney Matured into a really top player this year. Not scoring as many but his overall contribution has been top class. Would IMO make the best partnership in the world with Torres.
Hleb Spell binding at times been a bit injury prone but the sort of elegant footballer I like to watch. Scored and created goals earlier in the season.
Torres Scored a lot of goals.

    Subs
    Reina
    Evra
    Gerrard
    Bentley
    Anelka

    Honourable Mention:
Dave Kitson - I love Dave Kitson he is brilliant

    Flops of the season:
Gordon @ Sunderaland. Big price dropped after a few weeks not fully recovered his confidence. He looks to have talent at times but consistency is what being a keeper is all about.
All of Middleboroughs forwards have been awful (occasional exception for Tuncay).
Everyone at Derby - they could pretty much make up a duffers XI and subs on their own.
Boa Morte and Neill @ West Ham
    All of the Newcastle defense.
Malouda has been a disappointment at Chelsea as well.
Great post Dave. In retrospect Malouda ought to have been in my dross XI.

Boa Morte and Neill, too, have had particularly poor seasons.

Malbranque nearly went in my dross team! He's improved a lot since the turn of the year, in fairness.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Young should have an honourable mention actually he has been probably the most productive attacking player outside the top four and has great potential IMO.

malbranque has been a consistent performer this year for spurs. puts in a hell of a shift, makes a load of successful tackles, creates a lot for his team and has chipped in with a few goals too. he's the un-noticed man for spurs.

So is your system a 4-2-3-1?

He keeps running round and round with the ball because he is so right footed. Watch him, its like a dog chasing its tail

                  Decent right foot.

Huddlestone has a good right foot but he can't run.

If having to assemble a side I wouldn't have gone with those players but they would fit that formation or an Arsenal style more conventional 4-4-2.

I tend to think of teams as a keeper, back four, two central midfielders and an attacking quartet no matter what formation I would want to play (I really dislike back 3s or 5s however you might wish to describe it except if playing for a draw against better opposition or wanting to thrash a awful one playing wingers as wing backs).

Much worse around in the Premiership.

Yep agreed. He's not scored many goals but he's improved throughout the season and is now playing well and is a threat.

Other candidates for the **** team:

Wilhelmsson (Bolton) - shipped out already I think. It's bizarre, he's always impressed me for Sweden and Anderlecht (once against us, I think) but he's been woeful in his fleeting appearances for Bolton.

Darren Bent - disastrous season all things considered, but has had a mini-revival of late. Simply hasn't had enough playing time to make a true judgement.

Chris Baird - one of Sanchez's laughable Northern Irish buys, and he stunk the Cottage out.

Kevin Nolan isn't anywhere near the XI but by his standards has had a **** season, and I've even go as far to mention Essien, who has been well below-par.

The perfect six a side player, beautiful control of the football and intricate passer of the ball.

But, overall, I think he's hugely overated with little end product....

I don't like him, but there is much worse out there.
