Actually I've got it - Zola. He is a top guy and was a brilliant player, trained hard and made the most of his talent.
Zola's actually a very good shout.

I'd completely forgotten about Shearer kicking Lennon, that was pretty out of order. Still...this was pretty good:

If you want to see who is the 'better man' in some sense then really who is to say. Both seem to have publicly conducted themselves well and so presumable the decsion came down to who looked better in a sarong.

Beckham – media creation and beneficiary of the modern pop idol and culture (plus clever marketing by his wife). He’s also the most overrated player of the past 20 years.

Maldini – 100% world class player and role model to all

Claridge – Daft, incompetent, smug, self-serving buffoon who is a complete waste of tax payer’s money (why on earth is he allowed on BBC radio)

Careful now - he is also a Cambridge United legend. Don't make me have to abuse my mod powers (and no I don't mean I'll start a premature Big Brother sticky) .

Beckham just because he's made a great careeer for himself with less raw ability than Maldini. Maldini is the ultimate athlete so he was always going to make it in sport whereas Becham had to keep working to make his technique as world class as it is without having the raw natural athleticism.

That's not to say that Maldini hasn't worked hard but athletics/ sport were in his genes IMO.

Are we forgetting Rebecca Loos in all this?!?

And Lineker is a grade A **** by all accounts.

Seen the 48 year old Lineker in today’s Metro? Horsing around in a Caribbean swimming pool with his new, very attractive 28 year old lover.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

                        I'm sure Beckham hasn't

Anyway, Dalglish has been the best role model. His charity work, the work he did during the grieving after Hillsborough

                            Legend, I mean Linekar.

Don't be dissing Linekar. His family have a fruit stall in Leicester

I did but I don't see why that is a particular sin. Potentially the affairs that are talked about are a reason to condemn him if true but having a hot younger girlfriend is not a crime in my book.

I find the tabloid obsession with this sort of thing a bit tiresome really.
