Dunno whether i would say 'improved' but Santa Cruz at Blackburn has done really well

              Alexandr Hleb
              Emmanuel Adebayor

I also think James Harper at Reading has improved a lot as has Stephen Hunt

Ballack has improved immensley this season, especially given that he was injured until December, he has shown exactly why he has been exceptional for Leverkusan, Bayern and Germany.

Arteta I think has played very well this season, he has a strasnge of role of being part wide/central and good touch with both feet, great crosser and good shot onhim. Strange Rafa didnt go for him.

Defoe-Come on leaps and bounds since moving to Pompey and playing regular football.
Micah Richards-the ladis getting better and better. Deof one we should look to get before his fee goes stratospheric!
Joe Cole-talented player but now adds substance to his game as well as a final product on a regular basis.

                  Defoe.

I have criticized him a lot but he has shown that if the manager plays him in the right system then he will deliver.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

yup, he is doing so well, he seemed to be hit and miss for Spurs, but now, well he is flying

He had an excellent scoring record for Spurs, but it was just that Keane and Berbatov's were better.

Whilst he is most prominent at the moment i wouldnt say he has improved as a player he is playing regularly and on form, this opinion can only be on his 7 games for Portsmouth. He has always had the ability and that hasnt changed.

At the half way point of the season I would have said Benjani had improved the most as he was a crock of pants last season.

                        My candidates would be:

Wheater because he has come from nowhere and earned an international call up. Solid player.

Adabayor has really taken the step up and replaced Henry - a task not done easily.

ashley young: as stated in the first post...

Lastly perhaps Martin Laursen: He has come on from 2-years of injury to become a regular starter and banged in quite a few goals on set pieces. Impressed me a lot this season compared to the expectations I had...

I have revised my list it is now:

                          Mattieu Flamini
                          Ashley Young
                          David Wheater
                          Emmanuel Adebayor

Glenn Johnson - Looks a proper footballer now. Has been immense in the 2nd half of the season so far.

Adebayor - Looks a completely different player this year, although his current form has dropped off slightly, a bit inconsistent.

Flamini - From bit part utility player to one of the best players in the Prem once he has found hes best position this season.

Kalou - Has improved an awful lot this season. He takes a lot of stick but he has having a much better season this time around.

David James - OK maybe already on decent form last season, but I think he has been phenomenal this season, gets better as he gets older. Easily Englands number one for me and a massively under rated player by most fans.

                                Fernando Torres.

Who'd rather have Henry or Tevez now?
