I like Pleat, Taylor is OK most of the time and Alan Smith is quite good. I used to like Niall Quinn (though did he only do studio comments?). Pat Nevin usually isn't too bad and that bloke who summarises on Serie B for Eurosport is entertaining and seems reasonably well-informed.

The rest should be strung up by their Colemanballs.

Incidentally I've just caught Sky's 1 hour edit of last night's game (I was there for Alonso's wonder strike you see ) and Marwood's inability to see Scott Parker's playacting once again reveals his nastily xenophobic streak.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

To be honest the general level of xenophobia and blatant bias when it comes to diving and other forms of cheating such as shirt pulling is pretty shocking in almost all english commentators.

David Pleat just waffles on about nothing...tries to make himself sound important and knowledgeable by using a large vocabulary...what a knob!

David Pleat , is he Director of commentaters? Jim Beglin, Alan Smith sounded like a big Chelsea fan the other ,W*nker ,and of course Chris Kamara !!! he may look a ponce but hes a real hard ******* , he once broke a guys jaw for a racist remark (he got a good ban ,as raciam wasn`t excuse in the 80`s).

I know Mike Ingham isn't a co-commentator, but does he get on anyone's tits like he does mine? When he's doing his reports on the state of football, particularly the England team, he has such a dire tone like he's talking about the imminent outbreak of war, famine or something else of real importance. For god's sake man. It's just a game.

I agree I don't mind Townsend, all the rest can **** right off . Only one I might say is any good, and I say this purely for his knowledge of the game is Andy Gray. Think him and Tyler are the best pair of commentators around at the moment, but they don't often get a game together these days.
