Sir Alex Ferguson's son has been fined for assaulting his estranged wife on the drive of the Manchester United manager's £2m home.
Darren Ferguson, who manages Peterborough United, admitted striking his wife, Nadine, in the stomach with his leg at Sir Alex's home in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
The younger Ferguson, aged 35, appeared before Macclesfield magistrates in a re-arranged hearing after he changed his plea to guilty.
A Crown Prosecution Service spokeswoman said: "The basis of plea was that he raised his leg and collided with the victim's stomach, causing her to fall.
"The defendant accepted that his behaviour was reckless but he had no intent to injure the victim or connect with her in any way."
Ferguson, of Greatford, Lincolnshire, married Nadine, 28, in 2003. But they seperated three years later after having two children.
On October 23 last year, the couple rowed over childcare arrangements.
Ferguson was charged with common assault and originally pleaded not guilty.
His trial was due to take place on April 21, however the court was then notified of a change of plea and a new hearing was listed.
He was fined £1,500 and ordered to pay £200 in court costs.
Ferguson made 27 appearances as a player for Manchester United and also played for Scotland under 21s.
