    £9m invisible man

In January, just after we signed Martin Skrtel, Chelsea paid £9m for Serbian international Branislav Ivanovic. His squad number is 2.

What the **** has happened to him? I don't believe he's made a single appearance and no-one in the world has mentioned him since the day he signed.

    Anyone?
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Everywhere seems to mention him signing but he hasn't played and there is no talk of an injury or a loan. Bizarre

I was thinking about him today. Weird that a thread would be started about him.

You've all heard it. The pro Avram argument goes, "Don't judge Grant on this season, judge him on his own signings." Well, one of "his" first "big" signings has already been made long long ago... he of course splashed just 300k short of £10million on a young chap from Moscow. Nobody has heard of him since... until today!

Yes, £9.7million seemed a bizarre price when Chelsea signed unproven Serb utility defender Branislav Ivanovic. But today Chelsea fans might actually get a chance to see what this £10million man is all about as he FINALLY makes his first appearance in a Chelsea shirt. Could he be the strangest signing of all time, or could he be the next John Terry. Well we'll hopefully go someway to finding out in tonight's game.

Okay, Branislav's debut is at Brentford, for the reserves, but Claudio Pizarro and Stevie Sidwell will also be playing, so there's about £1million a week's worth of talent playing the few fit West Ham players who can't make the Hammers starting XI. It'll certainly be interesting to see how he plays.

Surely he's a £9m 'soon to flop' russian.

He was injured for about a month. After that he played few games for reserves.

hmm, well I suppose it was a bit like when we signed Agger, he looked out of his depth and was put in the ressies for a few months and come the start of last season, was ready for action.

Talking of invisible players, i was amazed to hear the name Gaizka Mendietta today, however i was even more amazed to hear he was still at Boro.

Why would the Chavs worry about a missing £9m Russian centre back.

The £30m Ukraniane centre back they had playing on Saturday looked pretty decent. Cleared one off the line towards the end of the game.

Strangely enough I was wondering what happened to him the other day, what a waste of a player.
