They were Russian Champions last season - the Russian season is played arse about tit compared to other European leagues, so they'll qualify for the Champions league for next season.

The new season started quite recently. The last season finished in November and they were crowned champions.

The game was clearly won yet Advocaat didn't take him off the pitch, very strange.

Incidentally, the last time a Russian side won the UEFA Cup was 2005, a north western English side went on to win the European Cup. Reckon same could happen again?

Zenit are better than just good, they would give us a tough time over 2 legs and possibly beat us. The reason they are 5th bottom of the Russian league is because it's only about 4 matches into the season and they've been playing reserves while resting their big men for the UEFA!

and about Bayern, doesn't matter how mcuh you spend, a cup competition is a cup competition and noone can guarantee success in a cup as 1 off day can do you. What is has done though is make them walk the league which is what can be expected!

Isn't that the truth. All their bigger players didn't turn up. Klose, Schweinstagger, Toni, Lahm were all shocking and gave up after the second went in. Ribery was also crap but at least he was still trying until the end. Let's not even begin to talk about Kahn, woeful is not a strong enough word, he looked lost.
