Zidane To Become QPR Manager
Reports in the British Sunday papers are sensationally claiming that Zinedine Zidane is to be unveiled as the new manager of London side Queens Park Rangers.
The back page of this morning’s Sunday People is dominated by the claim that French legend Zinedine Zidane is set to take over the manager’s reins at Loftus Road.
The tabloid claims that Rangers’ owner Flavio Briatore has promised a big announcement before QPR’s home game today with West Brom and sources close to the club are speculating that the great Zizou is to be sensationally named as the club’s new boss.
Gareth Ainsworth, the club’s captain, has added to the intrigue by inviting fans to “attend the dawn of a new era” in his programme notes ahead of the Championship clash.
“Sunday promises to be a day every QPR fan, old and young, remembers for the rest of their lives” he added.
Zidane has no coaching experience, but owner Briatore wants to bring in big name at the helm to attract top players, who will help catapult Rangers into the Premiership.
QPR's match with the Baggies is scheduled for a 1400 BST kick-off.
