    Chelsea summer spending begins...

Chelsea have reached an agreement with Porto for the £16.2m transfer of right-back Jose Bosingwa.

The 25-year-old Portugal international has arrived in London to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical, according to the Blues website.

Bosingwa, who was also a target for Manchester United, was born in Congo but moved to Portugal as a child.

The full-back helped Porto to the 2004 Champions League title and four league championships since signing in 2003.

sorry mate but thats utter bollocks, just because he cost the earth doesnt make him the best in the world does it, if you get the right players you can sometimes do it cheaply..i.e ronaldo for 12mill......i dont give a **** if they spend 500mill this summer, if we use what cash we have wisely we will stil beat the chav ****s next season.

Yes, because i'm wrong in saying that the top players are GENERALLY the most expensive, arent i?

****s sake mate, Ferreira cost £13.5mil so you're entire argument is flawed. FACT.

I agree that we need to spend much bigger but we don't need to pay more than players are worth like Chelsea do time and again.

My Chelsea mate reckons they may even spend more than Abramovich's first season

I would think that is very likely. Abramovich wants to see a style of football now - even if what has happened so far in his reign has bought a lot of success I think he dislikes the fact that teams like United and Barcelona get talked of as playing great football and his team don't.

Good for them, don't really care if they blow 16 mill on an untested young RB - just shows that they have to much money, and they are overpaying for every player they buy these days!!

We still have to see how our summerspending will be before we go crazy about what others spend. We might have more to spend than is being let to know, makes more sense businesswise...

IF Chelsea bring in 5+ new players then there are going to be a lot of Chelsea cast-offs knocking around

The word 'generally', despite being in capitals, seemed to vanish out of your line of vision.
