    betting on football.

OK i don't bet on football but my brother does in a big way, and i am rowing with him at the minute,my argument is that it ruins the watching of a football match for example he bet on arsenal to win(he is a lifelong lpool fan like me) my point is he wanted arsenal to win for money even though it was detrimental to lpools championship exploits,i don't know but i reckon betting is killing watching the game for the football and the passion and replacing it with "fuk me I've just won a fiver on Chelsea pipping lpool for the title".

I bet on football and when I have the likes of Scum, Chavs or Arsenal in an acca, I still want them to lose. Badly. If they win then, okay, they've helped me maybe win a bet, but the money is secondary. If they win I have the consolation of backing them, if they lose then I'm delighted to have lost my bet.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Winning on a bet is a nice by-product sometimes.

          I disagree.

I bet on games almost every week. Nothing big, and a couple of quid here and there. Thankfully I have had a some nice wins which carries on funding me week on week. I also only tend to bet if the odds are good.

For me it makes the game more exciting, and enjoyable to watch.
If I have no interest in a game I do not bet on it, but there's nothing like having money riding on something. For me the World Cup was the most excting ever, probably because I bet on at least 75% of the games.

Taking your scenario above into account, if I bet on Arsenal to win a game, and they win I am happy to win some money, but should they lose I am still happy coz they have dropped points to us! It's a win-win situation

Incidentally i never bet on LFC to lose.....only win!
