Ballack speaks out against tabloid stunt

Michael Ballack has joined in the condemnation of a Polish newspaper whose inflammatory front page, with a mocked-up image of the Chelsea midfielder's severed head, has led to complaints in the German parliament before a game which is threatening to bring discord to Euro 2008.

Leo Beenhakker, Poland's national coach, has already apologised for the "mad, dirty and sick" stunt in the newspaper Super Express, which had printed a superimposed picture of him brandishing the heads of Ballack and Germany's manager, Joachim Löw, under the headline "Leo, bring us their heads!"

Another Polish newspaper has shown Ballack wearing a Prussian helmet, recalling a 15th-century battle in which Teutonic knights were defeated by the Poles. This, in turn, has prompted Bild, a German tabloid, to tell its readers that Poland has declared war in the run-up to tomorrow's Group B game in Klagenfurt. Bild described it as "disgusting" and Peter Danckert, the chairman of Germany's parliamentary sports commission, said he would bring the "absolute scandal" up with his counterparts in Poland.

"We have seen the pictures and it doesn't really make us jump for joy," said Ballack. "There are some people who are cynical enough to just accept this is an everyday occurrence and there is nothing you can do about it. But I for one am a little bit more concerned about it. This is just a football match and this sort of thing should not be printed."

TBF Germans started that 2 years ago, we are just giving it back to them. In 2006 one could hear jokes about polish players doing houses refurbishment after games and one of Germans newspaper had polish Prime minister and President ( who are twins and utter cunts ) portraited as potatoes. They have plenty of polish jokes which are in a very bad taste as for example tourist advertisment: Go to Poland, your car is there already ( cause all polish steal cars ) and so on.

Funny thing is that mentioned newspaper belongs to Springer group who are ...Germans

And this battle that was mentioned wasn`t just any battle. It was as important for polish history as Battle of Hasting is for English. We absolutely smashed them and saved our independence.
