Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Couldn't agree more, there's only been one or two poor games and even those have had their good aspects (mental finish in Croatia v Turkey, Italians losing on penalties v Spain).Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostWhat a ****ing game. The tournament has been a joy.
Haven't enjoyed an international tourney as much as this one in a long time.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

Mattshark, you got a friend in me buddy
Phew is all I can say. I am extremely relieved by the result, although not at all happy. The Turks were absolutely superb in my book. Forget the wonders they accomplished getting this far, tonight is when they really came of age. They outclassed the Germans in every part of their play and on every part of the pitch, except with their finishing which could have been better. The Germans were so lethargic, second to every ball, no real fight or determination. The Germans would be closer to a loose ball but invariably the Turks would win it. They wanted it much more, and that's inexcusable from a German stand point.
In a way, watching that was quite a sobering experience. Seeing a threadbare Turkish squad outclass Germany shows how abysmal the Greeks are.
Who cares though? At least the spawny ****ers are out and we won't have to put up with seeing that symbol of oppression, that crescent and moon on a red background all over the place any more

On a different note - hurrah for Germany. They were **** but their fans in the Nanobyte in London were lovely and I now have a German flag painted on my forehead."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

You should go to Nanobyte for the final. It will be fun."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
