MORENO MAKES SHAKHTAR MOVE
Brazilian outfit Cruzeiro have confirmed that reported Tottenham target Marcelo Moreno has completed his transfer to Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Ukrainian team will pay nine million euros to land the Bolivian striker, with Cruzeiro receiving 40% of that outlay. A group of Spanish investors who own the transfer rights to the player receive 50% of the fee with the remaining 10% going to Moreno.
Cruzeiro spokesman Joao Marcos Dias confirmed the transfer on club website www.cruzeiro.com.br, adding that the 20-year-old's recent visit to Donetsk was crucial to the deal going ahead after he had rejected their initial approach.
"After visiting the club last week, the player accepted the offer and inked a five-year contract this morning (Tuesday)," Dias said.
"The offer arrived at Toca da Raposa at the beginning of this month, but Marcelo Moreno rejected it as he considered he could shine in more important places in Europe.
"The days he spent in Donetsk convinced him Shakhtar have the suitable structure and that he will have a good life in Ukraine."
Moreno has played 22 times for Cruzeiro this year, scoring 15 goals.
