Roberto Mancini always knew that he would get the chop from Massimo Moratti after the coach fell out with both the president and his side. Lies, backstabbing and a divided dressing room seem to have led to Mancini's exit and they almost exchanged blows during their explosive final fight according to reports in Italy.
According to Il Giornale, the meeting between Mancio and Moratti lasted just fourteen minutes and it was a heated exchange. Mortatti played the cool and calm tactics but the coach was having none of it.

Mancini: I am fine thank you.
Moratti: How's the family?
Mancini: Good thanks.
Moratti: Roberto, I have to give you some bad news.
Mancini: I knew it.

Moratti: No, don't say these things. You know, the team, I spoke to them and something is not right. So, it's better to change.
Mancini: Don't say this, you already had Mourinho lined up back in January.
Moratti: No, not at all, it's not how you think.
Mancini: Nooo! You have been giving me all sorts of stories and lies for months. I have always behaved in the right way and I have never lied to you. It's a decision I cannot understand.
