    Who to manage Liverpool...

reading the Redknapp thread there got me thinking.

Say Rafa buggered off suddenly...who would you want to manage the club? I know he's not going to go away, but hypothetically say he did...would you take Harry Redknapp or would you go European style like the Manccini's of the world??
    Cheers

If Rafa left I would like to see someone like Hiddink or Van Basten take charge.

Thats a bit of a generalisation isn't it?

King Kenny wasn't bad, or more recently how about Ancelotti? Del Bosque? Rijkaard? All seem to be pretty good to me.

Time will tell with van Basten but I believe he will be a pretty damn good manager.

Ok that def was a generalisation. I meant to say they don't necessarily make good managers.

I dont rate Van Basten. I think his man-management is poor and some of his decisions are bizarre at times. He won't be a success. Holland will fail badly this summer

When Holland were losing to Portugal in the last World Cup, Van Basten had Van Nistelrooy on the bench (!) and instead brought on Hesselink. Major boo boo I think.

1 of many errors. He's got 1 hell of a job to do at Ajax and i don't think he'll cut it

id rather go with experience, hiddink, trappotoni, lippi, scholari and install a good, young, british, preferably ex red as no.2 with a view to promote from within. If the worst happened.

Read somewhere that he has the best record for a manager of the dutch national team ever - so he can't be doing that badly...

Anywho, it's a whole other thing being a club manager. I would like to see someone as Hiidink or perhaps Riijkard. Don't like italian managers, way to defensive minded IMO. Paul Le Guen could be an interesting third option...

                            guus hiddink - pure class
                            dick advokaat - good manager
ottmar hitzfeld - bags of experience, good tactically
                            marcelo lippi - pure class
big phil - somewhat controversial, bit like moureen, an annoying person really

                            out of the brittish ones:

                            mark hughes - i know he's a manc but he's a decent manager
gordon strachan - horrible little cunt but a decent manager
alex mcleish - promising i think, need a couple of years of experince
paul jewell - that sex scandal might have done his reputation some harm, a decent manager non the less

can't think of anyone else really
