Michael Laudrup new Blackburn Rovers Manager? [SSN]

Danish coach Michael Laudrup has held talks with Blackburn Rovers about their vacant manager's job, Sky Sports News understands.

The former Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus striker is available after he quit Spanish outfit Getafe earlier this summer.

Laudrup guided Getafe to the final of the Copa del Rey and into the last eight of the Uefa Cup, but he opted to leave the Madrid-based side after just one season in charge.

He was strongly linked with the Fenerbahce job, but that deal failed to materialise and now he appears keen on a move to England.

Blackburn looked set to go for an English boss with Paul Ince, Steve McClaren and Sam Alladryce all keen.

But now Laudrup is understood to have met with Ewood Park officials and is reportedly keen on the role.

Now that would be a step in the right direction for Blackburn, Maclaren, Allardyce and Ince would all be OK all competent but certainly not ones to get them further then Mark Hughes did, Laudrup i think could propel them a bit further and has star quality to attract bigger names to the club.
    We come not to play.

I wouldn't think that any of the managers mentioned would necessarily do much better than Hughes to be honest. I think anyone will struggle to attract star names to Blackburn on their budget. To me all of the names strongly linked would do a good job (for my money I think Alladyce would be the best). I think though that Ince or Laudrup would go down best with the fans and as such I would make them favourites.

The BBC still thinks it'll be Ince. He'd be my choice if I was a Rovers fan but I don't know a great deal about Laudrup.

Michael Laudrup the player was excellent, Laudrup the coach did well at Getafe last season, they reached the Copa Del Ray final and did fairly well in both the League and Europe, played some nice stuff too.

I have a dyslexic, Blackburn-supporting friend who thinks that it'll be nice.
