Spurs to bid £16million for van Nistelrooy?

Tottenham boss Juande Ramos has asked Real Madrid to name their price for Ruud van Nistelrooy.

In a sure sign of Ramos' ambitions for the new season, Marca says he made contact with Real directors this week to sound out the possibility of bringing the Dutchman back to England.

Ramos is willing to put on the table £16 million
for Van Nistelrooy, though he received a cool response from Real.

£16m for a 31 year old!! he's still a clinical finisher but thats a big wedge to pay for someone approaching the twighlight of their career.
    We come not to play.

I'm sure he's sold his stake in the club.

They are owned by some very rich Jewish dudes though.

Van Nistelrooy will remain a top striker for the next few years. He's never relied on his pace to get the goals so I expect him to stay at his level until he's 34/35.

Presumably at which point he'll be put out to stud for a bit before ending up in a glue factory.
