    Any Malaysian/Indonesian Reds out there?

    As I'm 6 hours behind (NYC) I've been watching most Euro2008 games in work via p2p streams that are listed on myp2p.eu - it can be hit and miss most of the time and it's hard to get an english commentary stream that plays consistently. I've settled on one channel which is called astro supersports which I think comes out of Malaysia or Indonesia and broadcasts in English.

    Anyway, my question to you Malaysian Reds is, who is the (indian?) studio analyst on this broadcast? I think his name is Shevi something-or-other? He's by far the most intelligent and the most articulate football analyst I've ever seen on TV, especially compared to what ESPN USA is offering Tommy "onion-bag" Smyth and Andy "bluenose" Gray.

    I'm in the UK, heard Shebby Singh is a **** though:

    Here is some of his bile posted on red Cafe (via google search)

    ===
    John Dykes turns to him seriously to get his thoughts about England's central midfield...they were arguing about the possible exclusion of Lampard and whether McClaren would have the balls to do that...Shebby Singh says, "I think that Steven Gerrard is a poor passer so he should play at right back..I think thats the best position for him" Cue Steve McMahon almost spitting out his bile juices in disbelief ...his expression was class.'Shebs' kept arguing his point saying Gerrard was lost in the centre and going forward and he'd do better overlapping Lennon on the right than anywhere else.

    We come not to play.

      Although the point about his passing is obvious bollocks* I do think that for England Gerrard doing an Alves from right back is an option that should be considered sometimes.

      *[heretical thought]Actually I think his short passing is pretty crap at times, which is why he struggles in the deeper midfield positions for us. To generically say his passing is **** though is to fundamentally misunderstand the game of football.[\heretical thought]

        that's him! thanks for clearing that up.
        I'm not saying he's the messiah but he's been great during euro2008.
        Obviously I wouldn't agree that gerrard is a poor passer of the ball but I wouldn't say he's the best either and he does sometimes get lost in the middle of the park. His strengths are his individual skill, eye for goal, energy, speed etc, he's an inspirational player but not without his flaws. I mean he played most of last season just behind torres, the season before he was mostly out on the right so maybe rafa thinks middle of the park is not the best place for him either?
