    siempre con nosotros

Sergio Ramos had a picture of someone on his shirt and "siempre con nosotros" underneath which means "always with us", anyone know who was it for? I seem to remember a Spanish player dying this year, any ideas?

    Antonio Puerta.

The Seville player who died at the beginning of the season.

Made me cry, did that. He died the day I got married in Greece. I was keeping up with it on the news over there.

His baby son was born six weeks or so later without him ever having seen him. Heartbreaking.

          Siempre Con Nosotros indeed.

I didn't know he was to be a father. Very very sad.

It was a nice touch by Ramos to dedicate victory to a fallen comrade.

Puerta probably would have made the Spanish squad if he hadn't died so tragically.

His girlfriend was 7 months pregnant when he died. His squad number has been retired. The only person who will ever be permitted to wear it is his son, Aitor Antonio, should he play for Sevilla. I can only imagine the pain of losing the baby’s father so close to its birth.

No, mate, but us women are notoriously sensitive. It's allowed.
