    Quality player.

Looking forward to seeing how he gets on in the EPL.

I`m still wondering why Barcelona let him go for 8 million, which is peanuts in todays market, especially when dealing with Chelski.

Because of his disruptive manner off the pitch. They just wanted to get rid. They have a new look to the midfield with Keita being signed, the guy is a beast of a player. He will add more strength and power.

i'd be quite happy for lampard to leave and deco coming in as his replacement - i know a lot of people slag lampard off, but you can't deny he has been a big player for them - deco is just another chelsea mercenary, here for the money, i reckon he will flop more than veron

Interesting times for the Chelsea midfield next season - I can't see how they all can be accommodated

Chelsea will need to accommodate Essien now that I imagine Bosingwa will be first choice RB for next season.

I couldnt imagine anyone paying more than £8m for a player who barring the Euros has been on very poor form for 2 years now. He has not performed at all for Barcelona since they won the CL in 2006. Whether he gets his act together and performs for Chelsea is down to Scolari

Btw he is 30 years old now

The only way to accomodate players like that is in a £-£-£ formation h:

Probably because he isn't actually as good as people make out.

will be 33 when contract runs out

seems logical plus scolari will be gone by then :-)

He should be prepared for a rude awakening this season. Managers are going to ensure their players close him down and kick shades out of him, much like they have done with Alonso after his first season. Can he hack it though?

                              My money's on no!

I'm just surprised that Mourinho didn't show more interest, especially at £8million.

Wonder if this really will open the door for Frank ?
