Grays Athletic and ex-Oldham and Rochdale midfielder Ernie Cooksey died last night after losing his battle with cancer. He was 27.
He was a popular player in the north-west and the Oldham and Rochdale fans I know up here are all very sad.
This was posted on the net by someone close to Ernie just before he passed away:
Ernie's partner, Louise, is due to give birth to their first child in just four weeks.
RIP Ernie.
