The other losses on their own would be perfectly acceptable (for example Nasri has already been signed and is all but a direct replacement for Hleb and they have Walcott who may well progress).

I do think this year though the loss of an experienced player in Gilberto on top of Flamini leaves them very light and they had a weak squad last year (in terms of depth I mean). It is a big gamble to assume that one of Song, Diaby or Denilson will step up this season and they don't appear to have the money to buy themselves out of trouble.

In a way a stupid money move for Adebayor might yet save them by allowing them funds for a striker and a midfielder, especially if they get Eto'o in the deal.

I can see why people have faith in Wenger but since Rafa came his methods have kept them top four rather than challenging and this is the first time he has sold players while they were still improving.
I think so too, Flamini, Hleb and Adebayor were key players last year, Hleb is very good and will suit Barca well. No one of these players is past either, all of them have their best years ahead of them so Wenger must be a little bit peeved off.
    * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

      - We'd be producing some of the worlds best players We already have done so, but there would be no guarantee that the players Wenger has bought/developed/stolen would have come to us anyway
      - We'd already have a new stadium rubbish, Our finanicial situation is the fault of the owners and not the making of the manager.
      - We'd be paying off stadium debts rapidly at a cost of 24 mill a year which is why Arsenal are selling players off and have a restricted wage structure.
      - We'd have won PL titles and would be in the running most yearsto behonest, maybe, but since 2004 Arsenal and us have had our own sad little battle for 3/4th spot.
      - We'd be playing some of the most beautiful football in the worldoh please, dont buy into that bollocks. It is a media lovein, no matter how well we play we are never praised, Arsenal play some fancy footy against Derby or some other cannon fodder and people cream themselves. The only time they got the CL final was by playing dogged defensive coutner attacking football, count the 1-0 in that run and you'll see.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with Rafa, but everyone constantly goes on about how football as become all about money and selling out etc and how it's killing the game, yet also slates Wenger for not panderring to that mentality and giving the club a solid financial foundation so they don't have to sell out. And to me he is one of if not the best manager in the world because of this.

True football fans should be bowing down and worshipping the fella for keeping football about football in his tiny part of the PL, love or hate him or Arsenal.

Just to clarify as my bit about Rafa seems to have gone completely unnoticed, it was not saying Rafa isn't doing any of these things for us. I was saying if we had got Wenger when he first moved to the PL, not when Rafa came to us.

It was a transitional period in the PL, and we unfortunately dropped way behind. We're very lucky to have Rafa, he's pulling us back up, would never suggest otherwise.

hard to believe the 49 game unbeaten run Arsenal side of 2004 have now gone with the exception of Traore

          Keep this quiet

More to the point.....F*** 'em! Good bloody riddance!
Their fans aren't in uproar because they have no real fans left anymore.
They are you bona-fide corperate club, corperate stadium and corperate players and fans. No character left anymore.

Trouble is...I feel we at the Lane are going the same way.
Gutted today to read Ramos has said we should not forget we have to produce accounts at the end of the year. That's why Berbs and Keane will probably go and we will be left with a couple of medium rate foreign forwards who will have a few good games but just keep us in the top half of the table.
EUFA cup qf, maybe SF tho.
