    Mr Johnson goes to Town...

I am amazed at the money Fulham are paying for Andy Johnson. Or am I now totally and completely out of touch with the modern world of football!

Did I read 13 million? Is inflation reaching Zimbabwean proportions. In real terms, is he valued at the equivalent of two loaves of bread and a bag of frozen chips? ... Cos that sounds about right.

But if 13million is the price...what are Fulham thinking?

It's not as if they are going for europe or have the basis of a very good side already in place...Why am I on a Liverpool board as a Spurs fan waffling on about FULHAM!

Well....it's just football in the 21st century really.

Its true though, outrageous amount of money to be spending on Andy ****in Johnson. Sunderland are just as bad, i hear they are about to give the mancs £10m for saha. They have already spent about £40m on crap

The amount of money the owners of top clubs (the top 15, say) in addition to the newly rich 2nd tier clubs vastly outweigh the number of quality players i'm afraid, and the latter are clearly overpaying for 2nd rate talent because of this. AJ is English and half decent, is going from one Premiership team to the other. 13m is silly money but it puts Keane for 20 into perspective

Was surprised with this one yes, i mean who else wanted him, i hear the fee would rise to 13mill with add on's.

Fulham are doing the bitters a huge favour, a ****in gigantic wedge for such a small item.

Jeez - £10m for Saha - Last week they were trying to give him away to save on his wages
I make no apologies, this is me

It is a ridiculous amount but the trouble is that in the area of strikers who have been successful in the PL but might drop to a bottom half team there are very few players around but a large number of clubs. Surviving is worth so much money that a player in that category is bound to attract a substantial premium.

It is worth bearing this sort of inter PL fees when we discuss the values of the likes of Keane and Barry.
