          £18 million for Barry
          £19 million for Keane
          £17 million for Bently
          £11 million for Johnson

At a time when the economy is sliding downwards, people are feeling the pinch and tightening their belts. It is perverse, and I think football must think it is recession proof. I doubt it is and think this year's excesses might come back to haunt a lot of clubs.

yup, this will have abig knock ons down the line. In fact reading some of the reports today, it seems as if Arsenal will pick up a slice of the transfer fee, this must be why the fee is so high. They also had a simialr agreement with Brum when we signed Pennant. Does anyone know if we put in agreements like this when we sell our chaps on (like Guthrie/Carson etc)

                Ridiculous figures.

To think how a fraction of that money could do some good in this world.

Bentley is going to be a class player. If you've ever heard him speak, he's a very driven individual

                  Tottering Hotspur
What a nob, Bentley is a big headed individual not a driven individual. If he was he wouldnt be going to Tottenham, oh the irony.

I reckon he'll be a better signing for Spurs than Keane will be for us - provided Spurs buy a striker or two that are good in the air.

Actually every interview I've heard from Bentley he does seem a very level headed (but confident) person. You're all just jumping on the bandwagon in slating him.
