At 23, Bentley is a great aquisition. (Why do we use words when talking football that we never usually use)?

He has signed for six years so if he goes great guns, as I believe he will, his sell on value would be high.

Sour grapes from the geezer who quoted 'Irony'

Agree with the other educated, level headed scousers!

I think Bentley is a decent player but personally I prefer Lennon.

He is a bit of a big headed **** though.

I read this morning that Arsenal get a 40% cut of any profit Blackburn make from the transfer, don't know if it's right but they paid ~£2m and look like selling him for £17m which means Arsenal get about £6m. Which could have pushed the price up (I guess Blackburn wanted a certain amount probably ~£10m themselves so that pushed the price up to more than it might have been) But if Spurs are willing to pay that, then that's what he's worth!
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

            Bentley strike helps sink Celtic

Bentley kissed the Tottenham badge after scoring on his debut
David Bentley made the perfect start to his Tottenham career by scoring in the 2-0 win over Celtic at the Feyenoord Jubilee Tournament in Rotterdam.

The £15m winger came off the bench at the interval and rolled home a close range effort on 80 minutes.

There...that knock the price down to 16, 999,995. Gotta be worth a fiver that goal, don't you think?

It was probably just paper talk and thus bollocks, but I'm sure I read something over the weekend about Spurs having an £18m bid rejected for Ashton. Absolute lunacy if true.

It's true Reece, but it was for the Town of Ashton, for development purposes, not the bulky West Spam sandwich machine. At least...I hope it was!

darren bent is now the dogs bollocks

spurs are far too lightweight and will be bullied by the bigger teams as ever

still a top 10 finish for them
