      Saw this earlier. Strange decission unless his companies are actively involved in football. It would appear the Referree association are adding to his problems, rather than trying to help him

        it depends on who the money is owed to, but i imagine if somebody is in serious debt than they can become corruptible

          To be fair you could argue that they are protecting him. The media have reported his financial problems and the debts he has. So any corrupt individuals would obviously target him with bribes and perhaps someone in his financial position might be susceptible to such bribes

            I imagine that's the FA's thinking. It certainly applies to Financial Advisers, Solicitors etc but it does seem very harsh if they have no problems with his performance.

              Paid vacation innit really though, until the full story is revealed. I'm sure Clattenburg understands and isn't too disheartened. Shame tho, cos he's one of the more likeable refs in our league.
