i just reckon we are crying out for a natural attack minded speed merchant winger. we have some good players who like to pass but no -one outside babel who will run at defenders with real pace. with babel wanting to play central, riera not having the pace, kyut being more slower build up, yossi coming central, maxi being a yossi type player we need a wright phillips type to run at the defense to the bye line etc......
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

League Cup that wannit? Arsenal reserves?

He played well that night but that's the only time I've seen him play well this season. The City fans I know all love him because of his first spell there but reckon he's not the same player. Why would we be interested in someone who has been shipped out of Chelsea and then Man City for not making the grade?

Kuyt will have played as a striker for a portion of those 177 games.
            SWP wouldnt have.

Agree with this, he'd give us something we dont have.

Something which, unfortunately, would be a very useful option.

If we could get him on the cheap I think he would be adecent signing, he offers us pace and energy which is something we lack at the moment, he would be a useful alternative to Kuyt IMO. Some games would suit one more than the other, and he would give us "possibilities"

I agree we clearly need pace and energy but it's pointless if they can't play football. Why not bring in Dwain Chambers?

We should look to try and steal Lennon somehow, he's improving and is miles better than SWP will ever be.

yeh but lennon dont want to leave and doesnt beleive he's being forced out though so we would need a hell of a big transfer fee to get him. if SWP really is on his way out a lesser fee would get him and as we have no money all the better eh.

Couldn't agree more. I'd love us to somehow get Lennon. He used to have nearly everything apart from the final ball, and he has added that this season and has been Spurs' best player probably. They've missed him whilst he has been injured.

Not convinced. Like I said Dwain Chambers is free, fast as **** and doesn't seem to be doing much

I could almost guarantee if we brought in SWP, he'd frustrate the hell out of everyone and be moved on again in within 12 months. The lad just simply isn't good enough, which is why no top team wants to keep him.

I was banging on about Aaron Lennon AGES ago, before he became good, saying he had all the raw materials, and that he'd develop into a top player. Some of you chimps mocked the suggestion

                              @Shaggy

Yeah it was that game. I've only watched him a handful of times this season admittedly but his workrate has been very impressive too. He's quick at getting in the challenge from the blind side.

I wouldn't see him as a major signing but he's English, plenty of experience and has always done well against the Scum which would make him a nice signing.

I was actually going to say that we should have signed him back in 2005 and developed him at the club and should not be looking back at past potential. However, in our current predicament I still would take him at the right price.

Also, is he really being pushed out at City or is it just media talk?

Yes, but I should have put that in, although there's no way to distinguish the two

Perhaps break down Kuyt's performaces season by season:
                                06-07 48 games 14 goals (mostly striker)
                                07-08 48 games 11 goals (mixed)
08-09 51 games 15 goals (mostly right mid)
                                09-10 32 games 10 goals (mixed)
