That's the point i was making though, it's impossible to distinguish exactly when he played as a striker and when he didnt - and how much. So the comparison isnt all that relevant really.

Lennon would be a better alternative, but it doesn't seem likely that he'll leave Spurs, if he did, he'd be expensive and it's unlikely we'd be able to afford him
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Assists would probably be a more accurate way to compare, but I don't know where you can get those stats from. Although it's still not perfect.

Spurs arent exactly short of cash either, so they'd have no need to sell Lennon unless they got an obscene offer, say £30m+...which is a pipedream for us.

If they miss out on CL football, Lennon may well force the issue. Depends on how his World Cup goes but I'd say there will be possibilities. I don't think he'll hang around there. Of course we'll probably miss out by virtue of having no money. I could see him at United.

Yeah that's the worry, even if he decides he wants out, they're not gonna let him go on the cheap, there'll be damand for him.

An ideal scenario for us this summer would be something like Chelsea's signing of Robben back in 2004 for 12 mill. Good scouting.

                  Lennon is too injury prone.

                  SWP just isnt good enough.

I liked the look of Johnston

And Johnson went for a reasonable price ~£7m, SWP would cost at least that and Lennon probably 3 times that
