Absolute classic, you just obliterated what I THOUGHT was the best one.

What's with the hands in the air, and the "assh" and "sheeesh".

I can't believe he's still doing it, surely he knows they're all over youtube making him a laughing stock

It's funny to us but if he wants to be better understood in Holland then speaking English in a Dutch accent does make some sort of sense. It would be better if he learned Dutch I suppose but since almost everyone in the Netherlands speaks excellent English then maybe it's not worth his time.

He may have been a liability with England but he was far too inexperienced for the job and you've got to give him credit for the job he's done in the last two seasons, especially this one of course.
                  .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Hats of to him for getting out of his comfort zone and trying something new. He could have remained here and waited for the next Blackburn/Birmingham/Newcastle/Bolton job and joined the merry-go-round. Instead he has gone out and proven himself albeit in an inferior league. He will get invaluable CL experience, improve himself technically and also establish a good reputation with players in the Dutch league.

I saw an interview with him (think it was with Gabby Logan on that late night sports show on BBC1) where he was asked about the infamous clip of him talking in a dutch accent. He laughed and said his kids had been taking the mickey out of him for it, he went on and explained that everyone talked like that in Holland so by him talking like that it was almost helping him assimilate.

                      Still it sounds hilarious

I used to work with a guy who had this thing where within a minute of having a conversation of someone he'd be mirroring their accent.

It was entirely sub-concious without any real awareness of it happening (well, generally knew it did because people told him, but not specifically).

                        Maybe it's something similar?

ay, it's an accomplishment what he has done with Twente. It might be an "inferior" league, but it's one where Ajax and PSV are dominating massively, so winning it with a team without any history is impressive.

Yes, that occurred to me too. Isn't it usually read as a sign of a particularly strong desire, or even a psychological need, to fit in, perhaps even a lack of confidence?

Maybe he was putting on a Northern accent when he was at Middlesbrough.

Do you reckon he'd try talking scouse if we appointed him?
