    What an absolute tool

I'd put a bid in for Eriksen in the summer for a laugh. After years of spurs trying to sign players we are after if we become champions we should do alot to unsettle a couple of their players and transfer targets for a bit of payback.

The 'scouting report' on Eriksen for me has turned out to be 100% accurate. Bags of talent but when the heat is on in big games, he disappears. I think we can do better if we are after talent. Spurs will demand £20/25m for him any way.

Tottenham tried to hi-jack insert clause in Gareth Bale contract with Real Madrid preventing Mesut Ozil joining Arsenal

How Spurs tried to prevent Mesut Ozil joining Arsenal

Football clubs attempt to insert all kinds of clauses in contracts and it can now be revealed that Tottenham Hotspur made an extraordinary effort to prevent Mesut Ozil leaving Real Madrid and moving to Arsenal for £42.5 million.

Spurs are understood to have wanted to insert a binding guarantee as part of the world record £85m deal to sell Gareth Bale to the Spanish club. The guarantee would have prevented Real from selling four named players, headed by Ozil, to English clubs this campaign.

The quartet were Ozil, Angel Di Maria and Karim Benzema - who had all interested Spurs' north London rivals - and left-back Fabio Coentrao, who Manchester United tried to sign in a deadline day deal last September.

Spurs wanted Real to hold off allowing any of those players to come to England until this summer, but despite exploring the legal possibilities - such as adding a letter to the Bale contract - they were unable to reach an agreement.

At one stage Spurs had themselves hoped to bring in players from Real as part of the complicated Bale deal but that proved impossible with Ozil not wanting to join a club who were not competing in the Champions League and negotiations over Coentrao breaking down over his wages.

Spurs did not specifically attempt to stop Ozil from joining Arsenal, although they were aware that it was possible once the Bale deal was agreed, but just wanted to stop him coming to England if he did not join them.

The signing of Ozil has not, yet, been the success that Arsenal had hoped for when he agreed a five-year deal for a record fee, but his arrival did prove an initial boost for the club and there is no doubting his quality. Arsene Wenger is adamant that next season will see the best of the German midfielder.

That rug really tied the room together.

                  YES PLEASE

David Moyes is emerging as a contender to become Tottenham's next manager, though senior figures at the club are divided over the possible appointment following his dismal short reign at Manchester United.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy remains a keen admirer of the 50-year-old Scot, having considered him to replace Harry Redknapp in 2012 before opting for Andre Villas-Boas.

                        That's embarrassing.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

                                Fackin **** fans....

Tim Sherwood believes Tottenham fans are so obsessed with big-money signings that they fail to embrace the club’s home-grown stars.

Exciting young striker Harry Kane, who has scored in each of his last three starts, will again lead the line at Stoke on Saturday.

The 20-year-old marksman , given his chance by Sherwood, is currently keeping £26million striker Roberto Soldado out of the Tottenham first team.

But while the likes of Raheem Sterling and Jon Flanagan are leading Liverpool to the title, the Spurs boss feels the fans at Spurs do not give their own youngsters enough of a chance.

“Liverpool are a different kettle of fish to us” he said.

“Home-grown players at *Liverpool are embraced. They love home-grown players at Liverpool. Tottenham fans like signings.”

Sherwood, who has also given midfielder Nabil Bentaleb an extended run in in the first-team, added: “Ledley King is a legend here but it took him a lot of time to achieve that. To be one of the best players.

“Look at the other home-grown players. Do they get much time? Do they get a lot of *pressure?

“Harry Kane has scored three in three. But if he has not scored in half an hour they are still singing Robbie’s name to come on. It is very difficult.”

Meanwhile winger Erik Lamela is being treated by his former club Roma’s doctors in conjunction with Spurs’ medical team.

The club’s Head of Medical Wayne Diesel has flown to Italy as the Argentina star recovers from a back injury.

Sherwood said: “We need to see more of him. But the only way Erik will benefit from this season, which has been a poor one due to injury, is that hopefully he would have learnt the language better and settled in the area.”

Sherwood has also warned Soldado and England winger Andros Townsend that they will not break into the side simply because there is a World Cup around the corner.

He said: “I’m conscious of it, but I don’t feel guilty or anything. My duty is to look after the football club, I can’t worry about their World Cup.

“And I don’t think it makes any difference. I’m getting the vibe that I’m not sure the players think they have to play for their club before they go on duty.

“I think they think there’s enough time to get enough friendlies in for their international teams before the World Cup starts.

“I play Andros if he’s good enough. I only play young players who are good enough and at the moment there are two players; Christian Eriksen and Aaron Lennon, playing better than Andros, in my opinion.

“Aaron is contributing to assists and he works back. His defensive duties are fantastic. I am not saying Andros can’t do that but you can only pick 11 players and at the moment I am going with that 11.”
