As much as it pains me to say it, the FA played a blinder (intentionally or not) by getting five teams into the CL after we won it.

Although I would have L O V E D it if the same thing had happened to Everton

being totally honest, I never understood why the winners (ie us) deserved to be in it the year after. The qualifying rules should be very simple, top x teams in each league.

Because surely a team should be allowed to defend the trophy they won. Seems a bit farcical to me if you don't have the reigning champions in the competition.

I don't think the winning team deserves a chance to defend trophy if they don't come high enough in the league, no.

Winning the trophy should count for more than finishing 4th imo.
