    There is a difference between banter and abuse. What happened to Sol really crossed the line

    "We're talking about awful abuse, some of this stuff is racist - it's everything. It's wrong and has no place in football.

    "How do you do that in front of your kids? What kind of a nutter must you be? What kind of human being must you be when you take your little kids to football and shout filth? It can't be right.

    "Of course he is upset about it and we are all disappointed about what's happened to him but he'll be fine. He'll move on and get on with his football. He's been terrific for us."

          My point is clear. He slags off Spurs fans onw week, only to join Spurs the next. All is forgotten once a fat cheque is waved in front of his face.

          What do you think Sol Campbell thinks of that after the disgusting abuse he received?

            Imo,he just stated the bloody obvious.Wasn't slaging them off.There is an element of ****wit supporters in every club mate.

              To be fair he (quite rightly) had a go at the Spurs fans that dished out hateful abuse. Which I don't know but would assume is not the entirety of the Spurs support. In which case I don't think the criticism of Harry for joining them after making his comments is particularly damning. I imagine that Campbell doesn't like it but if he has anything about him he will see that sections of all teams support are involved in poor behaviour and in the same way that his move from Spurs to Arsenal wasn't a judgement on the fans neither is Harry's.

              I'm not really sure that Harry's move is any more mercenary than anyone else moving job to improve their prospects in other professions. The Spurs job offers a great deal more potential than Portsmouth.

              I think that the criticism of Spurs only being there to make up the numbers is unfair. They have a large support, are known internationally a few seasons ago were fifth in consecutive seasons and have been competitive in the UEFA cup. People have a very arrogant attitude to what makes a big club and for me as a club with buying power and a lack of debt you have to say that Spurs are one club which could genuinely at some point make a challenge, especially if the credit crunch were to have long term repercussions for the biggest clubs.

                A big fan of Harry's and I reckon he'll do good things with Spurs.

                Won't see an immediate major improvment.

                No strike force and a **** defence is how it is. But he knows how to motivate players so we'll see the best being pulled out of what's there and come next season they'll be a good team again.

                No idea why he's rated so lowly.

                  Spurs will be staying up now.

                  Redknapp knows how to steady a ship, and he's a pretty good manager. Don't know why people write him off so easily, look what he's done at Pompey.

                    I don’t see how the one is inconsistent with the other. IMO the Campbell business and Spurs crushing sense of inferiority to Arsenal is part of their problem. Bit like the Bitters in this respect. Dr. Harry at least should be unpacking from his carpet bag a shot of reality, a dose of humility and a slug of graft. Getting their fans to shut the **** up about Arsenal and focus on their own team for once might be part of the solution.
