It must be hard trying to integrate so many players into the same positions all at once, virtually all of these players have arrived without any form of preseason with spurs and all seem to play in similar positions, regardless of use Bale transfer spending that much money is going to bring huge pressure with it and AVB doesn't strike me as the type of manager that thrives on pressure
They looked a bit average today, their defence was **** whilst the rest of them looked like a bunch of individuals rather than a team.
Hope it continues like this for them.
I think they've overdone it a bit. They weren't far off last year and instead of building on that they've ripped apart and relaced pretty much their entire front 7, only leaving their defence alone (barring the Romanian guy they just bought), which was the one are of the pitch they really needed improving in from last season.
Chadli looked dreadful after the first 10 minutes, don't think he'll do much more than Lennon would. Paulinho was just strolling about, not convinced how well he will adapt to this league especially against teams that get into him quickly. Capoue looked strong but he's out for a long time now. And Soldado may be a cracking finisher but he really doesn't do anything else at all does he? £30m really was a lot of money for him.
Not saying they've bought badly, with Eriksen and Lamela still to come in they'll improve and they had do to something to make up for losing Bale, but while they have certainly strengthened their overall squad the lack of that one top class player, in form and ready right now to turn a premier league game on his own, well I really can't see them being the championship challengers people were suggesting a few days back. They'll have a strong shout for 4th I'm sure but blending this lot into a truly effective team unit is going to take them considerable work imo

I think the success of their transfer strategy will entirely depend on how well Lamela and Eriksen settle in the PL. They are lacking that creative spark.
They are defensively strong. Their defenders are good. Their midfield is very good from a defensive perspective. However based on the last two performances they seem to lack the players who can supply that killer pass to Soldado, or go past players, or score goals. If Eriksen and Lamela settle well and provide that subtlety and guile, then they have a really strong squad and first team. If they don't then they will struggle to score goals due to lack of creativity.

I reckon Lamela and Eriksen will be class but the rest will take a while to gel. Post January will look better for them. In the mean time, lets kick their arses!

I find it odd that people are so excited by a team which has Dawson as a key CB.
I'm thinking that only about 50% of their signings are going to be good. They haven't even scored from open play yet this season have they?

I agree with the general sentiment that only Eriksen and Lamela will be very good for them. Soldado will get goals but was way overpriced in my point of view.
give it till january and then assess their signing and ask if we would have any of them for our team. if we still would want them then they have been good buys. if not, they have just been spunking the monkey dough. easy come easy go.
reckon eriksen will be good, especially for that money.
soldado good, but overpriced.
lamela, not sure.

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

If he gets the goals then he wasn't really overprice, was he?
