I am no big fan of AVB, but the media seems to love it when he is under some pressure in this country. I see echos of Rafa in how they treat him.
Agree with that. There is a mistrust of these dodgy foreign coaches with their brains and studious approach.

      Keep it coming.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

As bad as Spurs have been and they have been pretty dire.. they are only 4 points off us. Always a risk when you buy so many players. Out of their big signings.. never really thought much of Eriksen he has been average for them. Lamela i thought would do well, incredibly talented guy but time will tell whether he suits the league or not. Soldado has looked pretty awful thus far but they are playing him up top on his own, he's a poacher and he plays a box game, the guy can't hold the line on his own that's for sure. Be interesting to see how he'll get on when they inevitably buy a striker in January.

Anyways, i think they are lucky to be only 4 points behind 2nd spot & would love them to capitulate before their predicable splurge in January.

P.S. Villas Boas has to be one of the most boring, miserable managers of all time. Guy has zero personality.

Thing is AVB managed Spurs' highest ever points total in the PL last season. Talk of sacking him now is insane IMO. The above hatchet job was written by Neil Ashton, who is a Palace fan but is the journo closest to Chelsea, who he covers extensively. He patently hates AVB and looks to me to be pursuing a vendetta.

As much as i dislike AVB as a person.. well not dislike but he's just so god damn boring! I do think he's a decent manager & shockingly enough they are still in a very good position if they start to click. Madness of even talk to sack him.

alot of those points were down to Gareth Bale, now he's left they don't have that outlet nor that style of play

Spot on that it's all about the net spend, but in reality he didn't need to spend the lot as if it was the last day at the sales. One top drawer player to replace Bale and a world class centre back would've been enough to keep them stable with £40-50m in the bank. They chose wholesale changes and there's no way they'll recoup even half of what they've spent. Basically he's pissed away the Bale money in the same way that we did with the Torres money. Thankfully as I thought they would be a really strong force this season. Funniest thing is that they've not even had half a season and yet the knives are out already for him

No. Liverpool wasted the Torres money worse than AVB wasting the Bale money. Carroll was the worst signing in Liverpool's history, maybe even in the history of English football.

Eriksen was cheap, Lamela might come good (but will probably go back to Italy at a decent fee) and the rest bolstered a squad (theoretically).

Andy Carroll was one player and he cost £35m.

We lost £17m on him, half the money. Can't really compare until we see what they recoup on their lot but I bet it's more than a £17m loss

I though Baldini bought them not AVB ?

avb is just a cheapo maureen wannabee copy. cant wait to see his crew cut next week
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Getting a bit ahead of ourselves wondering how much they'll lose on their "flops" they've played 12 games!
