    Bad news if true.

They could get someone in who is decent.

Who would they get in if AVB went?

Surely they won't can him so soon?!

I'd say their current points tally flatters them slightly, didn't they win 2 games because of dodgy penalty decisions ?? They've scored 9 goals in 12 games and 6 of those from open play that is shocking however I agree with the idea that all those new players need time to settle/gel and while it would be foolish to write them off even their most ardent supporter would accept that an ability to create/score goals can't be just blamed on new players ?
Something IMO is amiss at Spurs right now, is it AVB's tactics or has he lost the dressing and the players don't care anymore ? Or are the players they bought this summer vastly overrated and not actually that good ?

A draw against the Scum would be a great result

I am no big fan of AVB, but the media seems to love it when he is under some pressure in this country. I see echos of Rafa in how they treat him.
It's not that. It's his cunitsh attitude in the pressers in general.

At least Rafa was charming and knew how to deal with the press and had the players' backing all the time.

This guy blames the fans one day and then the players the next day. It's everyone's fault but his.

He had the same snide attitude when he was at Chelsea too.

If results go how we would want them we could see ourselves a considerable amount ahead of Spurs and United after the next 3 weeks to prepare ourselves for two tough away games in a row.

One top drawer player to replace Bale and a world class centre back would've been enough to keep them stable with £40-50m in the bank. They chose wholesale changes and there's no way they'll recoup even half of what they've spent. Basically he's pissed away the Bale money in the same way that we did with the Torres money. Thankfully as I thought they would be a really strong force this season. Funniest thing is that they've not even had half a season and yet the knives are out already for him
This is the problem I have with people who say Dalglish wasted £100m. He didnt in reality did he? It was closer to £20m when you take into account value/sell on fees of the players here and gone. (Including Suarez lets not forget)

AVB has brought Llamela, Soldado, Paulinho and Eriksen. All of which could be moved on for close to what they paid for them. Llamela arguably has the talent to be worth more. So to suggest he pissed the cash up the wall is slightly wrong.

I dont think he should have brought so many players, but at the time it seemed like he was doing the right thing. So who knows.

Also, how do we know these were AVB players? Don't they have Baldini doing most of this business? If I remember he was widely credited in the summer for getting them all in. So why in that case does he get the praise, but AVB only get the criticism. Its on both of them IMO. But the article above doesnt even mention Baldini in a bad light.

Youd be a bit of a cunt in pressers if you were presented with some of the shower who write for those tabloids.

I think there's a lot of press hubris about the "state of Spurs"

Teams sometimes get gubbed, thats football - United stuffed Arsenal 8-2 not that long ago. City were a lot better but it was a bit of a freak result. Spurs are still only 4 points off 4th place, but the press would have you believe they're in freefall. The biggest mistake they made was buying in so many at one time and trying to play as many of them as they could all at once, but if the players they signed for first team action were available to sign, then why not get them in? They did the same with Lloris which (6 goals on Sunday aside) has paid off and was a good long term decision.

The worst signing was Soldado though - he doesn't seem to offer what they're looking for. The way they have played over the last few seasons lends to a bustling, physical presence. If Adebayor wasn't a mentalist, he'd be far better suited to it. Basically, they signed the wrong Spanish striker - they should have gone for Negredo.

They're adjusting to life without their totem player, a bit of a dip was inevitable.
