FURIOUS Tim Sherwood admitted frankly that his future as Tottenham manager is in doubt after the thrashing at Stamford Bridge which left him condemning his team’s “capitulation”.

Sherwood - who was involved in a confrontation with Chelsea assistant coach Steve Holland - has received no assurances he will continue in charge beyond this season, with Dutchman Louis Van Gaal and Michael Laudrup said to be in the sights of Spurs’ chairman Daniel Levy.

“The silence is deafening isn’t it?,” said Sherwood. “It’s up to Daniel. I didn’t know if he was here or not. Maybe he was travelling, I don’t know. Fackin'.

“It’s up to the club to make that decision. One thing I guarantee people, though, is that no one cares more than me. Fackin'.

“And I want the team to do very well and it hurts me when they don’t. After this, I’m afraid I need people in that dressing room to be hurting like I am.

“I’d be no good as a fackin' number two. I’m too opinionated. I wouldn’t want to do the job. I do think there is a place for a technical director.

This was the fourth time this season Spurs have conceded four or more goals against a team above them in the table. Sherwood added: “We lack something don’t we?

“Capitulations are happening too often to say that we are rock solid and blessed with so many characters. The real disappointment for me is not only another loss but the last two goals were killers. Fackin' hells bells.

In his defence though I also do love his passion. He clearly cares very much, he was choked up in that most match interview. In a game where passion and loyalty are on the decline that is admirable. It's game over for him, and he knows it, and it hurts.

At some point Levy is going to have to take some stick for Spurs lack of progress, he's lauded as a hard nose businessman but in reality he looks more and more like a knee jerk reaction merchant that's constant chopping and changing of managers which I s hindering any progress.
