On the flip side, Van Gaal is one of the few world class managers around & it's a massive coup by Spurs to get him. It maybe short term ism by Spurs, but after this seasons disaster, I think short term is what they need. In all likelihood they've missed the boat with Martinez, and Pocchetino I believe is unlikely to move there. They're not an elite club so can hardly go and drag a top manager away from another club.

All that said, I feel Frank De Boer could be about ready to move on. I'd chance my arm with him if I was Spurs.

Van Gaal would be a very good appointment for them. Having said that I think the Manc and Barca job could be open by summer. I can see Barca going for LVG, FDB double team.
