Apparently Spurs have get outs if he doesn't make top 4. Delusional thinking at White Hart Lane. Small time club acting like they are a perennial top 4 club. Arsenal just have to a avoid a transfer window disaster and they'll still finish ahead of Spurs with or without more transfers.

Interesting from Tor-Kristian Karlsen. Although my impression was that a lot of the problem for the players he listed was attitude as much as ability.

Not to mention the fact that Eriksen did okay.

Their squad still looks shapeless (like ours did a couple of seasons ago) and I think it will be a significant challenge to get them organised and united in a single season. It'll be interesting to see how Pochettino does, at Saints it looked like a lot of that hard work had been done by his predecessor who was getting them to play well just before he was sacked (not saying Pochettino didn't improve them or do a good job).

a spurs mates of mine is gutted - he wanted de boer

i laughed and said it doesn't mate who you get - 6 months down the line, there will be a fallout with Levy and you'll be looking for another manager.

Now it's just going to be a summer full of southampton players being linked with spurs.

feel for southampton fans - best football they've had in years, one really decent season and the manager has gone and the squad looks like it'll be ripped apart.

sad in a way for football...as soon as a half decent sized club, peforms half decently, they get ripped up.

My Spurs mate is the same - wanted De Boer, unconvinced by Pochettino. Mind you he wanted David ****ing Moyes when Redknapp left.

spurs fans more than any, seem to get really carried away with themselves and what the press say.

            bordering on newcastle delusion

Pochettino could be a smart move a la Rodgers but he needs to be backed and given time which as we know isn't one of Levy's strong points & for all the money they've spent the squad to me still looks pretty short on players in certain areas i.e. CB and up top.

Whoever Spurs got in, the problem is not really the manager but the bloke who has given him the job. 10 managers in 13 years suggests that Levy is either extremely trigger happy or just **** at selecting managers. One poor year for Pochettino and he could be gone despite his potential.

Most Spurs fans I know wanted Levy gone before they chose their new manager. But I guess that'll never happen what with him banging Joe Lewis' daughter.

Tottenham are looking to replace their technical director Franco Baldini, with chairman Daniel Levy actively scouting for a replacement for the 53-year-old Italian.

Last summer was clearly Baldini's fault.

I do not get Spurs fans sense of being a big club - as annoying as it can be from Utd, Chelsea City etc Spurs have never kicked on - despite spending huge amounts of cash.

Yet listening to the ****ers you'd swear they were perennial achievers and had actually done something in the past twenty years.
