I didn't say fluke, I said one off. Their performance might return to 5th-6th next season.

Other than one occasion, I think they've finished above us 5 of the last 6 seasons, soon to be 6 of 7. They're way ahead of us already. Add to that a new stadium, CL football and the location (which is a big factor to a lot of players these days) and I really can see them only getting stronger.

They will become a top 4 regular, mark my words.

I get a hint of sarcasm there

For me though, they're going to be a CL regular very soon.

Thats impossible to tell there are just too many variables.

In fact, it looks more likely than ever that there will no longer be a 'top 4' like has been the case for a long time.

It seems like to be in the top 4 now you are going to have to be challenging for the title, bar a slip up or a late run of games out of the blue.

Chelsea have had a freak of a season, it remains to be seen how damaged they are but my guess is they'll be right back in the mix next year. Mourinho and his circus derailed, they've slightly improved since but its hard to judge.

United are heavily linked with Mourinho the formula for the past decade has been. Mou+Cash=Success.

Spurs have had a really good season, they look solid and like you have said are on more of a progressive rise with a very good manager and a young squad. The test for them will be next year, they've been able to rest players more in the Europa league and the big boys in the league have slipped up.

Arsenal have finished top 4, 16 or 17 years running so.. Yeah.. Arsenal.

City are the biggest spenders in the league, they have arguably the best squad. Small matter of Guardiola coming in too.

From our point of view we have a really good manager but a squad that is in need of serious restructuring. The Premier League will be flooded with top managers next year so I just hope we see some foundations built rather than expecting a miracle from Klopp.

I'd add to that if Everton get their **** together their squad should be challenging for a place.

They'll do nothing with him that's for sure - they have some decent players but they always seem to screw themselves.

Yeah his first season will likely be his best, when he married Moyes' solid defence with his attacking play. They really should have built upon that, their squad like I say should be challenging for top 4 I feel.

Anyway Spurs.. Going to be interesting to see what they do in the summer, I don't see too many glaring weaknesses.

                    Back up for Kane.
Another CM possibly to upgrade on Mason when he comes in.
I don't mind Rose/Trippier but both could be upgraded.

They tend to operate in the transfer space as us and have bought pretty well recently - Son, Alderweid & Alli been good solid additions to their first 11. Poch strikes me as being a manager who will buy hungry hard working players - the kind we hope Klopp will get. They need to strengthen up top and in CM + as you said both full backs could be better.

I don't dislike Spurs as much as many here (my Dad follows them + my brother) but I am worried about their potential to move away from us.

I don't want them to win the league but I don't hate them really, a good mate of a mine is a Spurs fan and he's pretty knowledgeable and very level headed about it. Probably diluted my opinion of them as a club to be honest being around him, he could well be insufferable right now... I was

Much like his Southampton team they are very much based upon a functional system and Rose and Trippier do good enough jobs. I don't think they'll pull away from us, they may be a step up the ladder in terms of development but we're on the right track. Klopp as manager, new stand being built, potentially Anfield Road end getting done up too. Build some solid foundations next year and I'll be satisfied.

Just because we're Liverpool I hope people don't get pissed off and are patient, I'd be delighted with a solid go at the Europa League now and again next year if needs be, its not a small time mentality in fact it was the basis of our European success under Rafa. You can't skip steps, we need experience of knockout football and this is the best way to get it in the latter stages. The only way we'll develop a winning mentality as a team, which we all want.

Yeah I don't mind Spurs, no point in us being bitter about them doing so well. Much rather them do well than Chelsea or United. Good young side with a good manager.

Oh I'd be bitter if they went on to win the league

But yeah they're doing it the 'proper' way aren't they, we're on the same track as them and we should be encouraged by their improvement because we aren't getting City money anytime soon.

                              Their potential is massive

I don't think some people realize how important location is. They're still a biggish name in the game, they have the location, they spend a fair amount and they have a £400m new stadium lined up. I think they're a sleeping giant personally.

Man Utd and Chelsea are already established. If they win things, it wouldn't affect the status quo too much, if at all. Spurs win the big prizes or break into the top 4, and it makes our job that much harder, especially with the things going for them (see below).

Don't forget the new training ground they're in. Add to that a young and exciting manager and squad, and they have an awful lot going for them.
