Spurs played very well against a side which previously to that, didn't concede a lot at home over a long period of time and had hardly been overplayed on their own turf. Juve might be ageing but they are certainly ahead in the pecking order compared to Porto, so I think the praise is justified somewhat. Spurs are a very good team which more than matched us over two games this season.
