Was having this argument with my mate yesterday. Yes, Dembele has been on fire recently and has this uncanny ability to glide past players but how many goals and assists has he got this season? Zero imagine Maradona and Ronaldinho with zero goals and assists

Plus he's 30 and done nothing of note bar poke his finger in Diego Costa's eye

And Dembele is genuinely 'under rated' by most. I suggested someone like him would be perfect Coutinho replacement, he's ****ing mint box-box midfielder, a genuine man to take control of the middle of the pitch, does everything well and some stuff exceptionally. He's been injured most of the season and plays deep so numbers of goals/assists are a spurious bat to hit him with. Sort of player who can go unnoticed by some but makes everyone around him look better.

Not really, just dont particularly like him or Tottenham, seems churlish and bitter of you to get upset by a Liverpool supporter not liking Spurs no?

In fairness, he is a deep-lying midfielder - that's not his forte.

Dembele is a good player, having a great season but Coutinho comparisons are as lubricious as Maradona ones. Had Pochettino said Simeone then he may have crossed a line rather than bulldozed it.

Well Rakitic isn't the same type as Coutinho either, plenty were happy to have him in part-ex. We need a genuine box to box MF more than a lightweight AM IMHO, so as a replacement I suggested and stand by the idea that he'd make us a much better team.

Coutinho is a lightweight AM, its a fact.

And I'm not bitter about him wanting to go to Barca, or Masch, or Torres ensuring we got the full fee by putting in a tranny request. The only one I'm bitter about is Owen for lying about it all season then pissing off on the cheap.
