Was having this argument with my mate yesterday. Yes, Dembele has been on fire recently and has this uncanny ability to glide past players but how many goals and assists has he got this season? ZeroOriginally posted by Shaggy View Post
imagine Maradona and Ronaldinho with zero goals and assists
Plus he's 30 and done nothing of note bar poke his finger in Diego Costa's eye

Bitter?Originally posted by Chris View PostHe's getting irritating now, a nothing manager at a nothing club.
Manager in bigging up his own players shock!
He's the most overachieving manager in the league and has single handedly made Spurs top 4 contenders and will be coveted by the to clubs in Spain.
And Dembele is genuinely 'under rated' by most. I suggested someone like him would be perfect Coutinho replacement, he's ****ing mint box-box midfielder, a genuine man to take control of the middle of the pitch, does everything well and some stuff exceptionally. He's been injured most of the season and plays deep so numbers of goals/assists are a spurious bat to hit him with. Sort of player who can go unnoticed by some but makes everyone around him look better.
Seems churlish to have a chip on a shoulder about it."that is my opinion and that is more important than what anyone else has to say about it" - Mr A.Fergusson, Oct 2011

Not really, just dont particularly like him or Tottenham, seems churlish and bitter of you to get upset by a Liverpool supporter not liking Spurs no?Originally posted by BillobShaisley View PostBitter?

Dembele - Phil comparison is stupid so won't even start on that.

In fairness, he is a deep-lying midfielder - that's not his forte.Originally posted by Maxiedge View Postyeah with 0 goals/assists, he'd be ideal mate. Plus he's 30.
Dembele is a good player, having a great season but Coutinho comparisons are as lubricious as Maradona ones. Had Pochettino said Simeone then he may have crossed a line rather than bulldozed it.

He's the foundation for a lot of their good work but kane, ali, eriksen gets the pludits. I think fernandinho this season is another

Well Rakitic isn't the same type as Coutinho either, plenty were happy to have him in part-ex. We need a genuine box to box MF more than a lightweight AM IMHO, so as a replacement I suggested and stand by the idea that he'd make us a much better team.
Nobody has to like anything but it's small minded and bitter to suggest he's a nothing manager at a nothing club. LFC fan's fairness, humour and dignity has always set us apart, its why I sometimes react to seeing that tradition diluted. Small minded and bitter to suggest Phil was just a lightweight AM surely? Would have thought your great self was above digs like that.Originally posted by BillobShaisley View PostWell Rakitic isn't the same type as Coutinho either, plenty were happy to have him in part-ex. And you may have missed it, but we are signing the best box to box CM on the planet in June/July.

You added 'just'
Coutinho is a lightweight AM, its a fact.
And I'm not bitter about him wanting to go to Barca, or Masch, or Torres ensuring we got the full fee by putting in a tranny request. The only one I'm bitter about is Owen for lying about it all season then pissing off on the cheap."that is my opinion and that is more important than what anyone else has to say about it" - Mr A.Fergusson, Oct 2011
