I felt he only won the double in his first season at Liverpool because he had the late great Paisley and fagin giving him the knowhow etc. When he was left to do it on his own, his bottle went and he had it away on his toes.

Mind you, I always realised that if I met him in person, I think I would have got on well with him judging by his sense of humour. So there's professional and personal...as long as we know the difference, we won't get too wound up!

Don't under-estimate the impact Hillsborough had on him leaving mate
