FIrst and foremost all top managers look at fitness. There is no point in picking a player who is only going to be available 50% of the time.

Maybe for a league team international football is different. He only needs to be fit for the individual game. They would only need to play him against Croatia as we should have enough without him for the other game and he is the type of player who could be the difference in a tight game.
